Fastball is Softball
What is FASTBALL
Fastball, also sometimes referred to as fastpitch, is the boys and men's version of Softball, the largest participation sport in North America with over 40 million players. Fastball/Fastpitch is now also being used for girls Softball leagues in North America.
Fastball has been around for over 120 years and is often called the game for life, being played by five year olds to 75 year olds.
Fastball is played in over 100 Countries, (Canada, USA, Japan, Australia New Zealand and Europe being the most active).
It is the official ball game of the US Airforce with major tournaments held every year throughout the world.
Fastball offers more fun & excitement for the youth players. The larger diameter ball is hit more often. The shorter base distances means more action in the diamond.
At the top competitive level in at the World Championships the pitching has NO EQUAL. A batter facing an 80 mph windmill pitch coming from 46 feet has 3/10th of a second to react. (In Baseball the batter has over 4/10th of a second or 25 % longer to react)
